Semillas de tomate/Tomato seeds
Siembra/Planting

Hi Everyone,
My name is Agustina, I’m 26 years old, I’m from Argentica and I’m collaborating with this proyect as a youth guide and also in promotion of the event.  I study theater and I’m a publicist.
I’m having beautiful days and each day ends with a lot teachings and growth with the kids.
Today was the third day of the camp, we started the day with the opening circle going through what we had learn the day before followed by vocal and body warm up.  The kids responded very well, excited and motivated.
Later and with Isabel’s help, the kids planted seeds in recycled bottles.  Each one of them wrote their name in the container of their future plant.  The idea is that everyday the kids water them and the last day they will take it to their home to re-plant it in their garden. Here as well, the kids felt interested and attentive. We discussed the importance of mother earth and the many nutritious food that it gives us.
Lunch came and kids played around the house and then we meditated led by Vicky.  Relaxation showed in each participant of the camp (kids, guides, and youth guides) it was a beautiful moment.
It followed by Global Perspectives: three of the guides: Ale (Colombia), Vicky and Sebas (Argentina) showed us the reality that is lived in their countries in relation to water.  One of the issues they discussed is how they can drink tap water in their respective cities? something that does not happen here in Mexico.  It was also discussed how careless we are with water, flooding and the importance of water in the life of human beings. We heard very good analysis from the kids, guides and youth guides.  After we watched an animation and after we also had a debate about water.  There were very interesting conclusions and the kids showed a lot of interest.
Next, time to draw arrived: we projected images of running water first and after of rain. The kids based their drawings in what they saw, they also painted and wrote whatever they felt while watching the videos. Most of the kids seem relaxed and concentrated, there were some scattered kids that finally got into the exercise motivated by the guides and youth guides.

The last thing we did was photography, we divided the group in two: one of the groups took pictures of the sheaths that they had painted the day before to make a stop motion and the other group took pictures of the drawings that they just had made. Kids seem very interested; they are very into using professional cameras.

As conclusion, the group in general seem interested and motivated.  It was so beautiful listening to them when we asked what they had learned the day before, and it was very gratifying to hear the conclusions that came up about each one of the activities.

I am very happy to be a part of this project, it is like I said before full of learning and an exchange with everyone that is part of the Camp.
